SS 2023
These were created to celebrate memorable events in my life, The idea behind this collection was understated elegance and ease.
Bride: Kim
Kim wanted a convertible dress that was non-restrictive so she could dance on her wedding day.
Solution: I created a mermaid silhouette with a lot of volume, including a detachable tail, it had voluminous sleeves that were detachable. I opted for a corseted closure so that way she could adjust the fit at her convinienvce.
Verdict: The bride loved it, danced all day, and even got a feature on a NY Times article
Bride: Peace
Peace wanted a show stopping piece for her desert themed wedding in Utah. She wanted a regal representation of her Nigerian roots, and wanted this as her reception dress.
Solution: An off shoulder neckline with beaded fringe on arm, a draped wrap to the side that doubles as a hand held piece. a soft detachable tail. Embroidered and corseted Torso for structure and shape.
Verdict: Happy, Regal and memorable
Bride: Daisy
Daisy was the unconventional Bride, she wanted prints for her wedding dress and of course, I was the best person for the job.
We had so much fun picking out the fabrics at Holland Textiles in NY, and we found a daisy print, that became the perfect starting point for the garment.
I created a versatile piece that could be worn in multiple ways, a bodice, pants, and an overskirt with cartridge pleats with silk peach taffeta fabric.
Verdict: We created a timeless masterpiece that is still a wonder many years after.
